I downloaded US market and more than 25% of the symbols are invalid. How do I remove them?

How can more than 25% of the symbols be invalid? How did you download the list?

To remove multiple symbols, select "Symbol -> Manage Symbols".

The US stock market has a total of 8258 symbols. Out of that the Historical stock market data downloader downloaded data only for 6299 symbols leaving out 1959 symbols as invalid.

I used the Tools option in the downloader window to remove the 1959 invalid symbols.

And when I ran the Daily stock quotes on 6299 symbols it downloaded data only for 5705 symbols.
