Bursa Malaysia EOD data

This item retrieves EOD data of Bursa Malaysia stocks from the klseeod.com website. The data goes back to June 2009 and it is downloaded by date. This download item automatically adds new symbols. However, you can use the Bursa Malaysia list of symbols with this item to get the company titles as well as the yahoo-compatible symbol names.

The yahoo-compatible symbol names allow getting EOD data for Bursa Malaysia stocks from the yahoo server for a much longer period - Yahoo EOD historical quotes. The advantage of the current item is that it gets data by date and thus the downloading process is much quicker. However, you can use both items; you can download the entire EOD historical quotes using Yahoo EOD historical quotes and then update your database daily using the current item.

In order to clean the downloaded quotes, I have added a script to this item. The script role is to remove the lines where the close price is reported as equal to zero and update the high, low and open values in case they are also reported as equal to zero.

Here is a list of other Asian stock markets:
Hong Kong Stock Exchange
Singapore Exchange
India stock market
Japan Stock Market
Indonesia stock exchange
China stock market
Ticker Symbols List of the National Stock Exchange, NSE, India
Within the items description you can find instructions on how to download historical quotes data for these stock markets.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
