Manage Symbols (Bulk Updater)

Updated on 2011-10-08

To open the Manage Symbols form, select "Symbol" then click on "Manage Symbols".
There are a lot of things you can do using the Manage Symbols form.

Filter Symbols:
By default, all symbols are displayed. You can instruct the application to display specific symbols by clicking on "Select Symbols" button. Set your filters then click on "Select".

Another way to filter symbols is by using setting fields inside the "Filter" groupbox (The small grid above the bigger one).
For example, to select symbols whose Name contains "A", simply type in "A" in the cell under "Name" column.

Update Symbol's fields:
For example, if you want to associate a new Index to some symbols, right click on cells uner the "Index" column. To select many cells, keep pressing on CONTROL.
You can select all cells by right clicking then clicking on "Select All".
Once you have selected your cells, type in a Index in the above input box (Update Selected Cells) then click on "Update" to set the name index. If you click on "Append" then the new text will appended to the content of each selected cell.

Replace Cell Content:
To replace cell content, select one or several cells, right click then click on "Replace".

Copy Content:
You can also copy the content of a column (Symbol Field) to another column. Select the cells you want to update, right click then click on "Copy from another column".
Now type in the Column Index then click on OK. "Select" has an index of 0, "Name" an index of 1, "Tradable" an index of 2...

Saving Changes:
To save changes, click on "Save Changes" button.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
