Create a Dynamic Watch-List

Updated on 2010-10-22

A dynamic watchlist contains securities that meet specific criteria.
Dynamic watchlists are automatically updated each time the application saves new quotes/data.

To create a dynamic watchlist:
- Click on "Create"
- Click on Create a dynamic watchlist
- Select the symbols to include in the watchlist then click on "Next".

If you are using the wizard formula editor ("Switch to Editor" displayed in the formula editor):
- Type one or several rules. Example: rsi(14) > 70 and close > 20

If you are using the standard formula editor ("Swith to Wizard" displayed in the formula editor):
- Create the filter formula.
Example:
rule1 = rsi(14) > 70;
rule2 = close > 20;
filter = rule1 AND rule2;
(Using the standard formula editor, the application will evaluate the "filter" variable to decide whether to select a symbol or not)

- After you formula/rules are defined, select the time-frame, the calculation method and the number of past bars to include during the calculation
- Click on "Finish"
- Type the watchlist name
- Click on "Save".

Update a Dynamic Watch-List
- Click on "Update"

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
