1) Tried using Industry Updater (attached below), but it gives errors for each symbol saying "Symbol name cannot be empty". Finviz doesn't provide this data in its free service.
- how do i make this work? If not, is there another Downloader for industry data?

2) I also used the use the "Symbol -> Auto Manage Symbols" tool, and checked the industry() and sector() columns in the screener, but they're empty.
- How do i make this work? Which database is the industry saved in?

1/ The downloader no longer works. Finviz used to provide the data free but no longer provide it

2/ The industry and sector information are not stored in database. You can find them when selecting "Symbol -> Update Symbol" or "Symbol -> Categories"

1) I can get the Industry and Sector info from other sources in a csv file - How can i Update Symbols in bulk?

2) Also, is there a way to Add Industry (in Symbol->Categories) in bulk from a csv file?

3) Finally, once i do this, I assume the comp() function and industry() functions will reference this info to determine Average industry metrics in Screens and Simulations?

1/ Using "Symbol -> Import Symbols from a file"

2/ No, using above or using a script

3/ Yes, use "industry()" for example in the "Group" parameter

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
