Hi Quantshare,

Just a question as I am trying to work out the best way to avoid a stock if it has gapped up/down by a significant amount in a past period.

At the moment I am using the following code:

Rule1 = (GapSize(30)) >= (0);

I assume this code means been that there are no gaps (0) in the last 30 days. Is this the correct code? Is it also possible to quantify what size the GapSize is in the lookback period?

Thanks very much for your help.

The rule you used should return stocks that either had a gap up or no gap at all (=0)
I suggest you use that function and plot it in a chart to better understand it and have a visual confirmation.

Also please read the item description again as that item was not created by QuantShare team but rather shared by one of our members.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
