Hi Team, l am way out of my league here, but am playing with chart software and the share market for the first time after reading a few books.
But the way you have to write a filter formula is giving me the yips, some help please.
I wish to write a formula to find companys on the ASX which have reached a yearly high in the last week. In another chart system it may look like
H(W):=:MAX(52,W)
also must have made a profit and paid dividend, AND PER(D):>:0 AND DIVYD(D):>:0
Obviously l didnt come up with the above formulas, but if l can get the examples for the above l can then see against the QS pdfs l have, how to go about writing other formulas
You people out there must be comfortable using this software and feel it is worth its value?, as l have a trial period. I never saw a $ for the charting system. What is the $?.

Thanks in advance

KD

Hi Kevin,

- To find companies that have reached a yearly high in the last week, open the screener tool (Analysis -> Screener), select a weekly time frame then type the following formula:

filter = (high == hhv(high, 52));

- For dividend and other fundamental items, you must download the data first then read it using the "GetData" function:

- On the formula editor, click on "Add Method" or "Add Indicator" to display the available functions.

- The price of a lifetime license is $245.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
