Week of Month

The "GetWeekNumber" function returns the week's number for each month. The value will vary from 1 to 5, where "1" indicates the first week of the month and "4 or 5" the last week of the month (depends on the number of days in the month).

This function can be used for example to detect the expiration date of futures or options contracts.

Let us say for example that you want to detect the third Friday of every month. You can do that by searching for "Friday" using "DayOfWeek" function and the third week of the month using the "GetWeekNumber" function.

Here is how to implement this:

signal1 = GetWeekNumber() == 3 and DayOfWeek() == 5;

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
