To update your quotes database in a few minutes and even seconds, this Daily Stock Quotes trading object quickly downloads the latest stock prices, from the Yahoo server, for companies listed on US and international Stock Markets. It can be used daily when your quotes database is missing the last date's quotes or if you want to download the last stocks prices (It only download data for the last trade date).
To keep my EOD quotes database up-to-date, I use this item daily, before the stock market opens, instead of Yahoo EOD historical quotes or Historical Stock Market Data.
The close, open, high, low and volume fields are downloaded; the downloader internally uses a script to fix some issues like open field reported as being equal to zero, missing date, empty close field. In the first case, the open price is set to the close price and in the two other cases (missing date, empty close field) the EOD data for the corresponding stock is simply ignored.
Settings of this EOD data downloader don't contain any date fields, you just need to select the symbols for which you want to download data, the item will automatically group symbols, create then send the appropriate requests to the data provider.
US Stock Market Speed Test:
For the U.S. Stock Market (more than 8000 ticker symbols) this Yahoo downloader made only 43 requests to update and download all stocks' quotes. The whole downloading process took 1 minute and 40 seconds.
Options EOD Quotes is almost the same trading object as this Daily Stock Quotes with the difference that it gets daily quotes for options instead of stocks.
