The NasdaqComposite Index is a capitalization-weighted index that comprises all stocks listed on the NASDAQ. It was launched in 1971 and it includes stocks that are exclusively listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market (Security that trades on other exchanges and that are listed prior to January 1, 2004 are also included).
