How to adjust a stock for splits

Updated on 2011-05-04

- In the main menu, select "Symbol" then "Split"
- Select a stock, a split date then click on "Add split date"
- Update the split ratio (you can also adjust for reverse splits) then click on "Apply"

You can also perform a split by opening a chart, selecting a stock, clicking on a date then on CONTROL+S.

In the Split form, the button "Analyze" analyzes stock quotes for potential splits. The number of potential splits that are detected depends on the sensitivity value. The higher the sensitivity the more splits will be detected. Note that these may not be real splits. Gaps may be interpreted as potential splits.

To delete a split, click on X icon or click on Clear to delete all splits.

To undo a split, select the split date then perform a reverse split.
You created a 1:2 split on 01/01/2005. To undo it, select that date then perform a split with the opposite ratio: 2:1

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
