The Abu Dhabi securities exchange is a stock exchange located in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates - UAE. The current ticker symbols list includes the 67 companies that are listed in this stock exchange. The companies sectors are as follows: Bank and Financial services, Real Estate, Telecommunication, Consumer, Construction, Debt Instruments, Insurance, Energy, Industrial and Health Care.

The Abu Dhabi stock exchange lists more companies than the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) but has less trading volume than the DFM. Companies that want to be listed in this exchange need the approval of the Emirates Securities & Commodities Authority which is the only agency legally authorized to approve listing.

Foreign investors can trade UAE stocks only if the company involved in the transaction approves non-UA nationals to hold its shares. These companies can also determine the ratio of their shares that may be held by foreigner individuals and companies.

Historical trading data can be downloaded from the exchange website: www.adx.ae, I will create a downloader later and post a link here.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
