Get real-time alerts from Media sentiment. This service provides different kinds of alerts concerning US stocks. These alerts are issued for stocks that are likely to experience a big move in the near future. They are generated when a company management releases its earning news report. Media sentiment analyzes this release in addition to other factors and issues an alert (if any) using a proprietary technology.
This downloader load and parse an RSS feed from Media sentiment, it then populate a database (mediasentiment) with the extracted data.
This database contains 2 columns:
Earning_sentiment: This value is set to 1 if the earnings news sentiment is positive and -1 if the earning news sentiment is negative.
Type: Indicate whether the alert is a HeadsUp, UpperHand or BigMovers. 1 for Headsup, 2 for UpperHand and 3 for BigMovers.
HeadsUp alerts indicate whether an earning news sentiment is positive or negative.
UpperHand signals indicate whether an earning news sentiment is positive or negative in addition to an oversold or overbought level.
BigMoves signals shows stocks that may move 5% if they beat or miss Wall Street's analyst EPS expectations.
